Vernacular Type

In this workshop we had to design a hand rendered type that we could then potentially use in our books. I decided to go down to letterpress to give me a starting point and help give me some ideas about which kind of font to use.

These were some of the letterpressed type that I got after they had been edited and drawn over with my doodles. I liked the font to begin with because it was 'blocky' and quite plain and had lots of space for me to be able to draw in. I did want to use the type throughout the book but because of the boldness of it I decided I would just use it for the title.
